Drug Addiction
The truth is to beat any addiction you have to truly have the desire to face it head on and change, without that nothing will work.
Coke is a joke, it’s expensive and not worth the high, the more you have the more you crave kissing any common sense goodbye.
Venus Cow says “ Learn to fly instead of thinking you can fly.”
Most people start off taking drugs to enjoy socially, that little lift to confidence but sadly, like any other fix, if you are an addictive person drugs will become a fixture. Drugs cannot make you happy. You don’t see many happy heroin addicts do you? Drugs destroy goodness.
The only way to beat any addiction is to pass through it with faith in yourself. If you are permanently knocking yourself out in order to get through your life, it is a cop out and very selfish. Imagine the impact your behaviour has on other people around you.
We have to face ourselves, our problems, our demons, head on. Only we can take control of our choices and hopefully recognise the easy option is never the answer. It may be the biggest challenge you ever face in your life to give up dependency on what is ultimately killing you but I can promise you where there is a will, there is a way.
Common Sense says it is not going to be easy so get someone to help you. Admit you want help. Your life is for living. Remember we are dead a long time, so take that leap of faith into the unknown and change your destructive behaviour into something you can be proud of.
Facing yourself and then others is the hardest thing you will ever do but finding the strength to be honest about your weakness is the start and you'll be very surprised by people's reactions when you tell them with an open heart you have screwed up royally and want to be a better person, not for them but for yourself and your own personal happiness.
Try writing down all the things you loved doing before you let drugs dictate your life plans. Try and remember a time when you truly felt happy. Make a list of all the things you really want to do in your life if you are able to find the will power to get clean and healthy.
Drugs will keep you stuck and away from your truth, something we all have to face sooner or later. Educate yourself on the harmful dangers you recklessly put yourself in every time you do drugs by reading inspirational stories of others who have given up. Write some poetry about how you feel when you are not high and then how you feel when you are high, if you can remember and if cannot remember ask yourself what is the point?
Make a list of healthy happy goals and religiously read it everyday until you recognize opting out of your life is just running away, a pointless exercise as you will never escape yourself.
The most important thing when trying to change a destructive negative pattern whatever it may be is to be patient with yourself, honest with yourself and kinder to yourself when you make a wrong choice in the future, because that's one thing you can be sure of.
