1. Take a trip to your local beauty college and offer yourself as a volunteer for students to practise on. You can try out a massage, a new hair cut, nail extensions or full make up and all for free.
2. Phone some friends and see if someone wants to do a frock swap with you. You can style each other and get a brand new look for less without spending a penny. Swapping is the new shopping.
3. Visit your local department store and try out all the free testers until you find one you like then ask the sales assistant for some free samples. The budget way to stock your make up bag with some free stuff and come out smelling like roses all for free.
4. Visit a local wine tasting evening or book/poetry reading and pretend you are there as a buyer. You can get a free drink and at the same time meet some fantastic new people.
5. Find free events in your local area online. Lots of brands, companies host promotion evenings often with goody bags or giveaways just for turning up.
In Hollywood when you are in demand everything is free so take a leaf out of the book of common sense and take advantage of what is free for you. After all, lets face it, mass shopping addiction has turned the fashion and beauty industry into a boom that in the credit crunch is about to face gloom.
